RADII (rā’dē-ī’) is an independent platform of artists, writers and creators dedicated to providing a window into the rarely explored sides of Chinese youth culture. Founded in 2017, RADII's mission is to captivate the world through stories that transcend boundaries.

We are looking for an experienced VIDEO EDITOR to work with our young, dynamic and ideas-driven team of filmmakers, writers, designers, and motion designers. You will have the support of many talented people that can offer their specialized skillsets, but should be able to deliver your own vision of how a story should be told visually. A very strong voice when editing is important. We will cover a wide range of topics/niches/styles important to Chinese youth culture, diaspora and the Pan-Asian conversation, check out radii.co.

This will take the form of mini-documentaries, longform, short form series, sketches, branded content and explainers, think Vox Explainers with an emphasis on communicating cultural trends, history and events in a fun, engaging way. We also want you to help establish standards for new series, stylistic choices, weave the positive with authenticity and nuance, telling unique stories in a meaningful way using cinema that bridges the gap between people familiar and unfamiliar with life here.

● Conceptual Thinker: Able to visualize scripts and briefs and shape that into a rough and final draft.

● Curious: Loves to learn new techniques and software, keep up with what’s making people watch videos and impressing other creatives. Stays informed.

● Efficient: Maybe you like to cut your story threads first, or the hero shot, even if you only have a clear vision for the end: have a workflow that works.

● Organized: Work with the Creative Director to formalize folder structures, workflow, templates for series and anything that allows us to focus on creativity.

● Storyteller: Pick out key moments, soundbites, and story threads that evoke emotion, encouraging the viewer to get invested and see the journey through.

Duties include:

● Be the key editor for RADII’s in-house and external video projects, creating inspiring stories through the art of a well-cut film.

● Edit videos for use by RADII’s editorial department, social media, digital platforms, homepage, events or in sponsored content.

● Carry out post-production duties within the scope of editing a video: including syncing audio, subtitling, stylish/creative transitions when necessary, title animations (w/ motion designer + design dept help), color grading, sound mixing, etc.

● Manage footage storage and selection, and final archival.

● To have a strong artistic eye for visual composition and a knack for film artistry.

● Deliver editing tasks on time or justify expanded scope.

● Understand that all video production outputs are for mass broadcast media, such as (not limited to) digital/social media platforms or commercial mass-media

● Ensure that video projects are delivered on budget, on schedule and on-brief.

● Proficiency in Davinci Resolve: color grading, simple sound editing and mixing. Any kind of After Effects integration is a plus, but you will have the opportunity to learn Fusion compositions, motion tracking, green screen, templates, simple motion design and more advanced color grading workflows. (Simultaneous editing experience within Davinci Resolve is a massive plus.)

● Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced production environment.

● Solid editing skills for a variety of video types with different pacing, tones and quality expectations, such as narrative/documentary/social media short videos, etc.

● Up-to-date with industry trends and possessing a keen understanding of RADII’s brand visuals to incorporate the two, creating attractive video assets.

● At least 3 years work experience in video production.

● Proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese. (If you can’t speak either well, compensated by even higher editing skill.)

● A showreel with past work.

● Examples of a variety of content, professional and personal.
