To keep the chilly weather at bay, we've made a winter playlist to get you through the season

It’s officially winter. Thanksgiving is over, the weather is cold and Christmas and Spring Festival are right around the corner. To keep the chilly weather at bay, we’ve made a winter playlist to get you through the season.

We’ve got some classic Christmas vibes from pop icon Lay Zhang (he has a whole album of Xmas songs), as well as a very festive track from Mavis Fan, “Snowman (雪人).”

But of course, winter is not all about Christmas — it’s also about fluffy cats. Enter Chestnut Bakery with their ode to their cat named, “I Love You Mr Snowball” (we love you too, Mr Snowball).

Winter is also about gorgeous frozen scenery and atmospherics, such as those heard on Anti-General’s tribute to the forested, subarctic Taiga region. Hills are also a frequent image of contemplation in winter — see Hiperson’s “Liangshan” and 33EMYBW‘s “Silver Hill” for reference.

We’ve also got some oxymoronic song titles in among the classic wintry tunes. Chengdu rapper and member of Chengdu Corporation (formerly Chengdu Rap House), Wang Yitai, sings about Los Angeles in the snow.

In a similar vein, electronic producer Alex Wang links up with YEHAIYAHAN for “Snow Falls in the Desert,” making for an impossible sequence of events, you might say.
