Traditional tech constraints, be gone! Alibaba is officially shifting into high gear. At its annual Apsara Conference in Hangzhou, the Chinese tech giant unveiled what it calls “China’s most powerful” AI chip. If that wasn’t enough to make waves, they also teased an upcoming AI model backed by a staggering 10 trillion parameters.

But what does a “10-trillion-parameter model” actually mean? Think of an AI model like a massive, constantly evolving brain. The “parameters” are basically its neural connections. A model with 10 trillion parameters is like upgrading from a flip phone’s contact list to the entire internet’s directory, capable of processing complex thoughts, generating ultra-realistic art, and solving problems faster than you can say “superintelligence.”

CEO Eddie Wu Yongming laid it out straight, naming “AI models, AI chips, and the AI cloud” as the holy trinity of the next machine intelligence era. Basically, Alibaba is not trying to compete in the AI race—they’re trying to build the track itself.

To power all this massive new brainpower, Alibaba Cloud is also scaling its global data-center capacity to a whopping 20 gigawatts by 2032. To put that in perspective, 20 gigawatts is roughly enough energy to power over 15 million homes. That’s an astronomical amount of juice aimed directly at supporting artificial superintelligence (ASI).

For young creators, this tech leap means faster, smarter, and infinitely more creative tools are on the horizon. From generating next-level digital fashion to curating hyper-personalized virtual experiences, the boundary between sci-fi and reality is thinning. Alibaba is firmly stepping on the gas, ensuring that the future of tech is practically superhuman.
