After his grandmother dies at the hands of evil forces, Tom is taken under the wing of her old mentor – a talking, shapeshifting tiger known as Mr. Hu. Together, with the help of a dragon and monkey, Tom is introduced to a magical world of adventure, where he learns that he is the latest in a long line of guardians destined to protect the phoenix egg from evil forces.
The adaptation has already cast fellow Crazy, Rich Asians star Henry Golding as Mr. Hu, while Sandra Oh will play the role of Mistral, an exiled dragon living in San Francisco and friend of the Tiger. Michelle Yeoh’s character has not been announced yet.
The movie hits theaters on February 10, 2023.
