Another highlight from 2018’s dog-studded CCTV Spring Festival Gala was this musical number, “Wang Wang Year (旺旺年)”.
“Wang wang” (汪汪) is an onomatopoeia representing a dog’s bark; “wang wang” (旺旺) means flourishing/prosperity. The latter was a catchphrase repeated throughout the Gala, and will forever be memorialized with this song:
