Having majored in Mandarin in South Africa, and doing a masters degree in American Studies (focusing mostly on Sino-US relations) at BFSU, he now devotes his time to writing, learning Goju-ryu karate, and wandering the mean streets of Beijing while keeping his zhongwen liuli.
