#Faye Wong

Faye Wong is a Bejing-born actress and singer-songwriter who holds the Guinness World Record for the best-selling Canto-pop female. Wong moved to Hong Kong in 1987 at age 18 and rose to fame in the ’90s by singing in Cantonese. Known as the ‘Diva of Asia,’ Wong has released 10 studio albums in her native Mandarin and an additional 10 Cantonese-language albums throughout her decades-long music career. To many in the West, however, Wong is better known for her on-screen performances, most notably as the quirky snack bar worker Faye in Wong Kar-wai’s Chungking Express and Wang Jing-wen in 2046, also a Wong Kar-wai film. Wong is known for being somewhat aloof with fans and media, and her mellow and mysterious persona on and off stage has drawn comparisons to the Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk.
