Born in Chengdu, Sichuan province, in 1992, Gong Jun, also known as Simon Gong, is a Chinese actor and model who first gained attention for his supporting role as Yuan Che in the 2017 historical romance series Lost Love in Times. Gong studied in the performance department of Donghua University in Shanghai before moving to Beijing to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Gong acted in various Chinese dramas from 2015 through 2021, but his role as Wen Kexing in the hit Youku series Word of Honor made him one of the most beloved faces in the Chinese film industry. The wuxia series was the most popular Chinese costume drama of 2021, following the success of other Boys’ Love (BL) series like The Untamed and Heaven Official’s Blessing, leading Gong and costar Zhang Zhenan to be among the most popular TV CP (internet slang for ‘couple’) of the year.
