Jinx Zhou makes music on her own terms, using the internet to promote her image and her music to the world, and freeing herself from the confines of being told what to do by parents, by managers, by anyone really.
Her story started in Changsha in Hunan province, where early on she showed a fondness for performing, by entering shows in her middle school and high school. Later when she went to university in Washington on the west coast of the US, she started creating videos and music to post online.
These videos led her to take part in variety shows in China, and dropping out of school in Washington and make a move to Los Angeles. A few years later she returned to China and began blazing her trail through hip hop music circles in the country.
This is her story.
