PSG and China midfielder Wang Shuang capped of an impressive 12 months by picking up the Asian Football Confederation's Player of the Year Award 2018 last night

China and Paris Saint-Germain Feminines midfielder Wang Shuang was crowned the Asian Football Confederation’s Player of the Year 2018 last night at a ceremony in Oman, becoming the fourth Chinese player to receive the award. The Wuhan-born talent has enjoyed an impressive 12 months having moved to PSG in the summer after helping Dalian Quanjian to the Chinese Women’s Super League title two years in a row.

Wang has played for the national side over 80 times and has scored 25 goals for her country at full international level — netting six times in this year’s Asian Games in Indonesia. Her career with PSG got off to a pretty good start in that regard as well, albeit thanks to some dodgy goalkeeping:

She was named Chinese Women’s Footballer of the Year last year and has become a regular for the Steel Roses, as China’s women’s team is known. She ought to be a key figure at next year’s FIFA World Cup, coincidentally taking place in France, for which China was the first team to qualify.

Here’s a more extensive highlights reel featuring some silky skills (and great goals) from her career to date:
