Freda Fiala works across the contexts of performance art, digital and new media dramaturgies and interculturalism, through researching, writing, dramaturgy and curation. Her current research project as a fellow of the Austrian Academy of Sciences explores contemporary performance practices and cultural networks in East Asia. She has worked at the Salzburg Festival, at Wiener Festwochen, at Taipei Fringe Festival and as a theory mentor at P.A.R.T.S. In 2022, together with River Lin, she initiated the performance festival ‘The Non-fungible Body?’ that takes place in Linz/Austria.
