Like much of the world right now, China is going a bit crazy over Avengers: Endgame. After the special China poster art and the Peking opera masks made out of LEGO, the film’s early release in the country has seen it smash box office records and… prompt memes about Captain America’s ass?! Now, a Chinese company has developed an actual Iron Man robot.
For 289USD, you get a 13 inch tall Tony Stark that you can control through an app on your smartphone or mobile device. It won’t fly, but it will walk, run and flash its lights on command (you can also program it to perform a certain set of actions) and a screen inside the helmet will show an image of your own face if you want to have a go at being Iron Man yourself.
Apparently, you can also leave it in a room to “guard” a space. If a foe enters and can’t give the correct password, the Iron Man robot will “repel” them via different colored lights and sounds. Perhaps more fun is its ability to offer up AR gaming via a smart device — you can have the robot fight Thanos and other baddies against a backdrop of your own home or wherever you happen to be playing.
Oh, and if all that sounds a bit complicated, it comes with a built-in “FRIDAY” assistant as well.
