We look at why these lovable characters are making an appearance at the inaugural Water Parade, hosted by creative studio AllRightsReserved.

Hong Kong’s iconic Victoria Harbour is set to transform into a whimsical aquatic art gallery this October as AllRightsReserved (ARR), the renowned HK-based creative studio, prepares to launch its much-anticipated “Water Parade.” Kicking off officially on October 25, this unique cultural tourism event promises to bring a fresh splash of joy and creativity to the city’s dynamic waterfront, cementing Hong Kong’s reputation as a hub for innovative cultural experiences.

Recently, keen observers caught a thrilling glimpse of what’s to come during a dazzling trial run. Floating majestically on the harbour waters were several beloved characters, hinting at the grand spectacle awaiting Hong Kong.

Among the playful armada—crafted as giant inflatable sculptures—was Kasing Lung‘s adorable elfin creation, Labubu, bringing a touch of contemporary art charm to the waves. McDonald‘s iconic purple pal, Grimace, floated playfully alongside, a charming nod to nostalgic pop culture. Art world sensation KAWS reimagined Sesame Street’s beloved Elmo, giving the familiar character his signature cross-eyed aesthetic, instantly recognizable to fans. And of course, the timeless robotic cat, Doraemon, rounded out the delightful display, promising a journey through imagination for all ages.

This unprecedented collaboration of globally celebrated IPs and artists, curated and organized by ARR, is set to captivate both locals and international visitors. Beyond the impressive floating sculptures making their debut and eventual parade across Victoria Harbour on November 1, an eight-day “Water Parade Market” will also run along the Central & Western District Promenade from October 25 to November 1.

This vibrant accompanying bazaar will offer further interactive entertainment, IP-themed pop-up shops, and exclusive collectibles, creating a holistic cultural experience. Get ready for a truly unforgettable visual feast as these larger-than-life figures sail across the open water, a testament to Hong Kong‘s vibrant creative spirit and its ability to host world-class, engaging public art events.
