Yin (音, “music”) is a weekly RADII feature that looks at Chinese songs spanning hip-hop to folk to modern experimental, and everything in between. Drop us a line if you have a suggestion.

Another week, another bop from bizarro clubland to bounce around your brain. This time it’s a new Soundcloud sizzler from Beijing rapper and promoter Bloodz Boi and London’s Organ Tapes, who team up with Atlanta producer shrimp for “没救” (meijiu; “hopeless, incurable”):

Flavours in my roll when I smoke I breathe
Looking like a ghost I can hardly see
Say she wanna roll she can roll with me
If u wanna go we can go for free

Looking like a ghost with my rosary
Looking like the ghost it’s all over me
Angels keepin close like they supposed to be
Hiding in my home tryna choke the beat

Yuh. Been a good year for both of the primaries on this track, with Bloodz emerging after a period of self-imposed house arrest for another slippery and smooth Soundtrack exclusive in April (“Dong Leng Cha” with Hong Kong rapper Fotan Laiki) and Organ Tapes releasing a highly rated album of experimental, deranged dancehall in January via Shanghai’s Genome.

Queue all those up on your iPod nano and settle down with eyes closed and rosary clutched tight for a very strange night indeed.
