Li Bingbing is a Chinese actress from Heilongjiang province in Northwest China. Li rose to prominence after starring in the 1999 film Seventeen Years, for which she won Best Actress at that year’s Singapore Film Festival. She went on to receive critical acclaim for her performances in A World Without Thieves (2004), Forbidden Kingdom (2008), and The Message (2009), among other Chinese productions. Over her nearly three-decade-long career, Li has also found success in Hollywood, gaining recognition in the West for her role as Ada Wong in Resident Evil: Retribution (2012) and Su Yueming in Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014). More recently, Li starred alongside Jason Statham in the 2018 action film The Meg and acted in the Chinese-Australian sci-fi horror thriller Guardians of the Tomb, for which she also held her first and only role as a producer.
