If you did well in the hongbao stakes this Lunar New Year and you’re about to be spending everything on Alexander Wang, you’ll find one of RADII’s favorite rappers staring back at you from the designer’s website home page right now. Sichuanese rapper Vava, who in the summer featured on the Crazy Rich Asians soundtrack, is there looking pretty damn stunning atop someone’s dining table.

This feels like a totally natural fit, given Vava’s natural swagger and style and Alexander Wang’s penchant for hip hop muses. The link-up came about as part of Vava’s first ever trip to New York, something her crew decided to capture on camera:
For the uninitiated, Vava is a stalwart of the Sichuan hip hop scene who was catapulted into the mainstream after making it to the latter stages of Rap of China’s first break out season. With this Alexander Wang shoot and that Crazy Rich Asians feature, it seems Vava is finally getting some of the attention she deserves overseas. Here’s hoping her international profile continues to rise during the Year of the Pig.
