It’s been good news for those who like to kick off their week with a Made in China bang lately. Coming a couple of weeks after Shanghai-based producer Hyph11E dropped a “Hard Dance” mix for Boiler Room, the label that released her excellent debut record took over Rinse FM late Sunday night UK time for a three hour taste of China’s alternative electronic music scene.
The SVBKVLT takeover featured Hyph11E herself, along with 33EMYBW, Scintii, Nahash, Osheyack, Gabbermodusoperandi, and Swimful. As Hodge explains, “SVBKVLT is a label based in Shanghai, it’s run by a guy called Gaz who used to run the legendary Shelter club, and now runs a club called ALL.”
The takeover includes six mixes and, again in Hodge’s words, “all of them are absolutely killer.”
And when you’re done with that, you can dive into another slice of 33EMYBW weirdness via London, courtesy of this half hour mix for DJ Pitch and Gribs’ TT (fka Tobago Tracks):
