Following fast on the release of Rich Brian’s debut album Amen, 88rising is keeping the hype train rolling with a new video for Chengdu’s Higher Brothers. “Trickery” sees the bros taking a more polished, less gritty style to a hotel room party and a fictional club called JKF (named after this entertainment company), comparing themselves to 2Pac and Biggie, and sneaking an MJ-style falsetto right there in the (sung) chorus.
88rising is also keeping the literal tour bus rolling, putting Higher Brothers in front of truly insane amounts of people on their current tour with Rich Brian. I mean damn:
Presumably the translated subtitles, scattered English lyrics, and pop-leaning sound in this new video will go a little ways towards helping Higher Brothers translate to a wider overseas audience.
If you’re in North America, catch them over the next week in DC, New York, Boston, Chicago, or Toronto (dates here), or next month at SXSW in Austin.
Otherwise, keep an eye on 88rising’s socials, where Higher Brothers’ new EP TYPE 3 will drop in about a week.
