Here, anxious parents line the pathways with open umbrellas, meticulously pinning A4 papers that detail their unmarried children’s height, salary, and hukou (household registration). It’s analog matchmaking at its finest.
While we can’t quite compete with the relentless dedication of Shanghai‘s shushus and aunties, RADII is giving this iconic cultural phenomenon a modern, Gen Z spin, right on Qixi Festival (AKA Chinese “Valentine’s Day”). We’re heading back to our favorite neighborhood spot, junto, for “Date My Mate,” running it back to our go-to spot not just for their undeniably tasty drinks, but for their warm community and amazing team.
